[BTRY'061] DJ HASH - "ORPHYS" [2019]


Rafael Ortiz alias “DJ HasH“ from Zaragoza (Spain), began his path in the Hip Hop movement of 1989. Before he’s beginning in the world of productions, he collaborates as a DJ with some local rap groups (the origin of his name DJ HasH).

The sources of his inspiration are old school rhythms with 808 sounds, fat basses, melodic pads and leads with delay. He has a great admiration of the Roland TR-808 sounds and analog synthesizers. His influences are all kinds of Electro, old and new school mixed with the 90's English Techno scene like Orbital and LFO.

In 1993 he composes his first songs with an electric style and recorded a demo that had never been released. In 1996 he produced more tunes with more equipment but never got the opportunity to release a song. Finally, in 2008 he debuts on “Subsonic Device“ on the European Electro Bass Development compilation, afterwards an EP named “Chrome Position“ in 2010 on the same label.

Presently he has collaborated on “Elektro Domesticos“ compilations 2 and 3, and the “Mars Frequency“ compilations 1 and 2, also releasing 4 EP's on “Mars Frequency“.

Currently he has released another EP on the “Urban Connections“ label called “Distorted Vision“, and has participated on volume 12 and 13 of the compilations. Lastly, another EP called “Esh“ on “Microm Records“ was released in early 2019.

This time he teams up with Battery Park Studio and delivers 4 fine tracks full of old and new school Electro mixed together in his own unique style.
